Jaffar is such a good rooster today. He was out with his ladies, but came over to see me. I kneeled down and he jumped into my arms. I told him what a good boy he was and gave him some meally worms. 15 minute time together (waddle rubbing) and now he’s back with his ladies. IMG_3016.jpeg

I think that is the answer. Frozen tick garnish for the next time the chickens have mash.
I checked on the CDC site and I think they hadn’t yet drunk my blood so I don’t need antibiotics.
I hate those things!
Well that is good news. 👍

That has been my observations also. Not to say cold isn't a serious concern, but I think heat is more insidious. I will find the heat wonderful, but the chickens not so much - they can't prance around in shorts and a tank top, hard to get rid of those feathers!
Now I can't the image of prancing ponypoor out of my head!

😵‍💫

I can't believe it - I was sitting mending the electric fence (all done now) and a tick fell on my cheek. They are literally just dropping out of the sky. Presumably from the trees.
Turns out electric fence mending tools are ideal for handing ticks.
I held the squirmy little critter in my needle nosed pliers and I chopped it in half with my shears.
I fed the two halves to the baby chicks.
Very satisfying!

Tick Tax - babies went for a nap in their dust bath!
