They pretty much do all the regular chicken stuff he just has a neck issue.

If he can sprawl out, (look at RC's pics of Maggie) and dust bathe, then he likely will be fine eventually. Just needs time to heal

I am giving vitamins and pain meds at the moment. Thats all I can think to do. Only time will tell. He just may be my special guy for the rest of his life if he dont get better. He does eat and drink fine. I am giving him extra vitamins and selenium by dropper so he gets it.

What is it? Meloxicam? That is a good pain and anti inflammatory med.

You would need to ask your Vet re dosing.

They're really good, and they feature some kind of little person called a hobbit. Hobbits have huge hairy feet and they don't wear shoes. Just like you!

Every chick goes through the fugly stage. The time spent in it and severity vary check to chick. Every one of them is darlingly lovable.

I am noticing that wee Penne seems to be getting lovely feathers and not going through a fuzzy stage... and still not growing any tail feathers. I took close up photos of 'her' head for all to see and put their 2 cents worth in as to pullet or Roo - but that darn phone of mine is hanging. Will post the pics tonight. But I am surprised at how sleek she is and flying everywhere! That one is going to be trouble I am sure.

Awesome - chickens can take that - I would call your Vet and ask them about a dose for the wee one - can you get a weight on him? do you have one of those kitchen scales for weighing thing's like spices and other ingredients in small quantities?

Sorry to hear of you hip I can empathize with you completely.

Not sure what the leaves are, but I will read ahead to see what others say.

Since everyone is stuck inside today, I might go pick some dandelions and bunch them like that for everyone.

I'm seriously thinking of asking my doctor for some pain relief. I can't take codeine.
