The Littles have discovered the next room of the Chicken Palace. They are enjoying the blue steps and the tree stumps in the first covered run.
I think they are aware of the power of five as they seem quite fearless and the big Princesses all decided to go elsewhere and have a spa day so they can ignore the littles.
I need a collective name for the littles. Maybe they are the Pentagram!
Eli seems to be dithering about being broody. She ignored Babs’ egg in favor of a dust bath. But she is still Tut-tut-tutting around. I think she needs therapy.

Oh that is adorable.
Babysitting!
🥰🥰
It is totally unexpected from him. He is the last rooster I have who I would think would do that, and at only 5 months old, he is half game. I am now at a complete loss of what to do. 1 is going to have to go. With 4, the crowing is getting a bit out of hand. I love crowing but it is starting to annoy me and that is saying something.

This bunch has one non-silkie (Mr P x Penelope), the other 3 are pure silkies from my friends silkie hens. I will check to see which one is a Roo and possible keep it for my own. Unless I decide to keep Rico... tough decision.
I forgot that. Sorry for the confusion.

Well crap, now what do I do? I could not put Madea down after what I figured to be a broken leg. Instead I managed to find a way to give him almost 2 weeks of semi cage rest. After a week he only had a slight limp and now hardly any limp at all. That still leaves me with the problem of 4 roosters, I do NOT NEED 4 roosters. He is currently doing something that until today only Branch does. Goose is on the porch in the nest box ready to lay her first egg back. I had a heart attack when I could NOT find her 4 chicks. I saw Madea sleeping under a overgrown weed on the creek bank. Thought nothing of it and continued searching. Well I found them finally. Madea is babysitting them :th. I was thinking of giving him to someone who wants to process him, well, obviously now that cannot happen. He is supposed to be in his idiot phase and make this decision and choice easy on me, but nope he spared himself today.
Guarding the weed.

I'm laughing at the crowing not the dilemma.

Sprout report and a dirty leghorn. I have given this girl a few days to clean off the mud, it is sticking so I guess I will have to help her out. It will be fun for both of us....not.

They are getting there. Still a ways to go until they flop but they are nice and red.

The crap will come off on its own. Glynda has a spot for about 3 days until she cleaned it off successfully. It's usually mud from a rainy day.

The food is moved out of the coop and I am gonna keep it bare ground for a few days until I am well enough to go find all tunnels. Seems I have covid again.
On a cheerier note, I let Brownie and the chicklets out while I cleaned the tent out seeing as how it seems they will be in there for at least another 2 weeks, thanks to the Rat issue. 🤦‍♀️ Here are some cute pictures, they are finally getting curious about me.
