The food is moved out of the coop and I am gonna keep it bare ground for a few days until I am well enough to go find all tunnels. Seems I have covid again.
On a cheerier note, I let Brownie and the chicklets out while I cleaned the tent out seeing as how it seems they will be in there for at least another 2 weeks, thanks to the Rat issue. 🤦‍♀️ Here are some cute pictures, they are finally getting curious about me.

She's such a proud mama! With every right to be.

It is totally unexpected from him. He is the last rooster I have who I would think would do that, and at only 5 months old, he is half game. I am now at a complete loss of what to do. 1 is going to have to go. With 4, the crowing is getting a bit out of hand. I love crowing but it is starting to annoy me and that is saying something.
You will get used to it.
I vote he stays!

:wee :ya :wee :ya :wee Good boy! Can you find him a home with someone wanting to raise babies?
I am going to try. Boys are supposed to be idiots you know. They are supposed to be evil and attack people and chicks, no one wants them. My lot did not get that memo, even in their "idiot" phase they never cross those lines. Therefore the simple process your extra boys is near impossible for me to do. That and I love my boys, it would be different if I did not like the boys. Due to his cage rest Madea is also now very tolerant of handling. Anyone on here looking for a good rooster? :oops:

WHAT THE BLEEP???

:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit:hit

How did Mrs Clean-egg get Peronitis??
Today she wasn't herself, just sitting in the corner doing nothing. Both she and I knew it was her time, but I don't have the gut to do the processing so I called my friend that obviously has a stronger gut. The worst part was that I had to hold her legs while my friend processed.

Anyway, I had come across @ManueB's thread about her hen Caramel, that from what I believe died of peronitis as well. So when I saw that burst yolk ALL over her insides, I knew.
She had a LOT of water inside her, and those burst yolks. Little to no feed in her crop.

So sorry for your loss :-(

@RoyalChick are you?

Went out to fill water containers. Took these. Looks like more storms heading through.

Same lilac bush

2 different angles

And the lilacs blooming at the same time as the crab apple is unusual. They're usually offset by a week. The pea tree hedgerow is getting started also. Highly unusual to have them all blooming simultaneously. As a result, I hung the hummingbird feeder this morning.
