2 splash will only make splash. A splash and a blue will make splash OR blue. A splash and a black will ONLY make blue.
Hmmmmm so either Misty or Whiskers can be Little Grey’s mum. They lay blue green eggs. This I imagine Little Grey will lay a very light blue egg. Would you say so?

Also I wondering where Martina’s colouring came from with Marty her mum and Mr P?

Willow smashed an egg 😵 I think that it was a fertile one too. I stole ALL of her eggs, and candled them. Out of the 13, 1 broken, so 12, we have 6 fertile eggs. How many are alive? I have no idea.
Also, I have her brooding house all planned out.
I told my dad about it and he just grabbed a really big wooden box, and took the door off -because it was once our old cabinet- and shoved it in the coop on some cinder blocks. We are gonna make a hoop around it with chicken wire so that she has a little run, and we are all good.
It's so annoying but it may work. Except my dad wont freaking do anything now. I'm going to laugh in his face if Willow doesn't like it. I'll get some pictures of it later.

That is my experience as well. When I tried to move Sydney she went crazy to get back to her nest. She would not be moved.
My silkies can be moved ok, as long as you bring the eggs with them. Sophia also moved to Marty’s nest box when I took the golf ball away and gave it to Marty - Sophia just followed the ‘egg’!!!

But once I removed the golf ball all together she went back to her own nest box.

Last year I moved other broodies that were in rather inconvenient boxes, and as long as the golf ball was with them they were good to go.

Contagious!

And was afraid Marty would go broody, or Henny Penny but I never in 100 yrs would have guessed Sophia! She is 4 yrs old and has never been broody. All winter she and Mr P and Penelope were crowing up a storm.

But I have only myself to blame, she sits in her nest box when she lays her egg, all afternoon, I made the comment once that I was surprised she had never gone broody, the amt of time she spends in her nest box growling all the time - next thing I know she’s gone broody on me!

I do feel guilty for not giving her chicks but it just not a good time.

How are your little munchkins doing?
Your tombstone will read
“It was just not a good time!” :plbb

I really hope that Willow moves with out a fuss...

Sounds perfect. Don't think your Dad is quite as anti- the chickens as you make him out to be!

The littles are doing great! Never having done an integration before, I have been surprised that the hens are more nervous around the babies than the other way around.

I was gently telling my lead hen that she was going to be responsible for these babies when one of them flew up erratically and poor Annie ran a startled lap around the run, up the ramp into the coop and out the door on the other side! :gig

I am sorry for laughing, Annie!
