Oh dear, well one broke is sad, but hey you have 6 eggs to play with! That’s is a goodly amt for a first time mama.
I don't know how many of the eggs are alive, and to give them back to her, I needed to roll them about a foot. I put them as close to her as possible, but it's hard to be on your hands and knees on bird crap.. plus three other bothersome brats who are wondering "what in the heckin' chickens is going on?"

No, I think he just wants to keep me safe honestly. Although when he was a child, much younger than me, he did see his dogs kill his whole flock, including his favorite chicken Bluebell, right in front of him.
He really loved Bluebell. He took her to school on a homemade leash for Show N Tell, tried teaching her how to swim, and stuff like that.
He said that she was a RIR, so if I get a RIR looking chick, I'm gonna name it Bluebell.
Oh I feel so bad for your dad!!! :hit😭:hugs💚

I would have suggested raising mealworms, but maybe that is not the best idea. They are actually not gross and pretty easy to handle and not a lot of maintenance to take care of them.
Those junebugs here terrify me. I am afraid of one hitting my eye or going into my mouth.
LOL, my whole entire family is scared of June Bugs except me! I think their nice and cute but everyone else screams bloody murder (think of dying monkeys)! (including Addicted to Chickens) :lau:gig
