Never any problems with BLU, or BEN. But Jaffar loves to explore everything and everywhere.
My land is all still new to him I'm guessing. And as I did state to my closest neighbors, "We may have a problem with that new tenant living on ----- land next to mine, so be aware of it"
I am going to be cautious about free ranging, from now on. (My birds stay safe) ! :D

An unwelcome visitor
I had a surprise visitor investigating the Chicken Palace today.
It could be the new building inspector, or possibly a grumpy new neighbor like @featherhead007 is dealing with. It certainly isn't a very large chicken.

The noise you hear in the video is me banging saucepan lids together to try and encourage him/her to move on and not try and rip the Chicken Palace shutters off their hinges!

He's huge! Did he try to break into the coop?
Well I think he was thinking about it because he was sitting by the (open) coop window peering through the shutters when I came running out with my saucepan lids. He didn't seem very scared of me and rather reluctantly sauntered off.
I am worried if s/he will come back at night. The Chicken Palace is well built - but I think bears can rip pretty much anything to shreds if they put their mind to it.

Hi yall... I haven’t been here in a while because I bit the bullet and rehomed my bantams 😔 and I couldn’t bare to be here and talk chicken... had I realized what a devastating blow this was going to be I may have not done it... but as time has gone on I am coming to terms with it.. I had to keep reminding myself that I was ultimately doing them a favor.. in the long run. I must admit that the first few days I was torn apart with “abandonment issues”... and oh, how I miss seeing them in my flock 😢.... I even considered going back to get them but I knew that if I did and they became broody again then that would be even worse... I am broken hearted as I didn’t realize until now how much I loved them and that they were my favorites.

Thinking of you WhoDat. :hugs :hugs

I do hope so. The Princesses generally ignore the little ones except when they do a menacing prowl around the fire-escape. But I did hear one of the Princesses crow over the weekend. I mean just like a rooster only missing the long ending (though I gather from @featherhead007 and @Shadrach that true roosters sometimes skip the finale of their crow too). I suspect that means that hierarchy is playing more of a role in the Palace than it used to. So I am just hoping it doesn't play out in a lot of aggression. The little ones do have on their side that they are very fast and can really fly quite far.
Fingers crossed!
Every roosters crow is different. Notch doesn't have a wind down warble, neither do the bantams.
