And for fun, some rabbits. The big tan rabbit is Astra, and the little white one with one ear is Estella, and the little white one with two ears is Polar Bear. Polar Bear and Estella are Astra's babies. Don't worry I will pay tax after this as well (Estella is the one that is laying by Astra, you can only see a bit of Polar Bear's side)

Thanks for sharing :) Ruth is at that awkward stage I see 💕

How are all your chooks handling the heat - all ok?

Happy Canada 🇨🇦 day!
Hopefully you stay Canada Dry, A?
Well I was going to do hay on Monday - but looks thunderstorms all weekend.

It will have to wait till next weekend I guess.

Meanwhile I am enjoying my the littlest newest chicks, Sophia is settling in great with them. She is very attentive and ready to do battle with me, but I give her treats and she gives them to her babies so I am now the good person hahaha!

My phone is charging right now, but I will take some photos later.

Well I am going to give you some advice that my parents gave me, I pestered them all the time wanting riding lessons, a horse… but money was very tight for us growing up.

My parents told me that when I got a job and started earning my own money I could get my own horse, and any other things I wanted.

You’re very fortunate to have riding lessons, and all the pets you have. Being an adult is hard, and we are just human, we have bad days and yep we yell at our kids. Sometimes the kids yell back 😊

You have chickens and one on an egg and some in the incubator, that’s way more then I had as a child - count the blessings you have, and when you’re old enough to work and make your own money you can get all the animals you want ❤️❤️❤️

In the mean time cuddle all those ones you have and cut you dad some slack, you know when was the last time you just went up to your dad or mom and hugged them told them you loved them WITHOUT asking for anything ? 💕
Thanks! I guess that I can be a bit of a brat sometimes 😳 I normally give my dad a hug whenever he comes home from work, even when I'm upset. Although right after I start blabbering on about chooks... ❤

Yep - I know all about it :)

OK so how is your pup? I do hope he is ok.

And how is the bumblefoot treatment going?

Lastly how is Willy getting on - is she still on that one egg?

I am nutty busy trying to get enough product made for my one big event of the year which hasn't happened since covid. https://www.oregoncountryfair.org/
For those interested.

A late caturday post, despite all attempts to get Katniss fixed, we have babies.

Good that you recognize it. :) Trust me, it gets frustrating being asked for the same thing over and over and over. Especially if you've said no already. And if dad doesn't have any interest in the birds...well... when my son was your age his thing was gaming. It was all he talked about. I had no interest in that and it got so old and tiring having no other conversations. Try to find some middle ground. Of course you should talk about your interests...but maybe ask him about his too every once in a while? I would have loved my son to show some interest in my day occasionally. That's the end of the advice from an old lady. :)

So Eenie is down to 5 eggs. Husband found one over by the door to the coop when he opened it this morning! No idea how it got 5 feet fron the nest! I candled it and it had developed a little...but of course wasn't now. :( Wonder what we'll find candling the others...

10:30 a.m. and only 80 degrees! Nice change of pace. We shouldn't get over 95 in the next 10 days. Now if it would only rain.

I'm sure something in this post requires tax.

Kitties for caturday! In the first pic, the gray cat is Buzz he was a feral stray 3 yrs ago that I somehow won over - took him to the humane society to be neutered and now he is an inside and outside cat. The beige cat on the driveway lives across the street but he comes over and helps himself to the food and water I leave out for cats, but mainly for Cally, who is the calico on my chair(she is a stray, Itried to bring her in and help her get used to the house but she simply prefersto be outside)- she has officially taken it over but she allows me to sit in the chair when I want 😁 then Kitty who is 11.5 yrs old, sitting with my husband- she loves to sit/lay on us.

Last night's horse show ended up being called off. There will be one tonight though weather permitting. I was down there sitting at the picnic tables talking to the lady who runs it while Rosie rode Russ with a few friends. Up walks a small group of kids who ask her what are they going to do with the chicken. What chicken, where is a chicken? One of them is carrying a brown hen, and it is dark mind you. They had brought her to have a chicken chase at intermission and did not know what to do with her. I instantly ask to hold said hen, Betty is telling them she did not really like to do chicken chases because she feels bad for the poor hen and would not want to see her hurt. The kids say they were giving the chicken to whoever caught it, at this point I have the hen securely in my arms and maddie is beside me. I look at Maddie who immediately understands. I set the sleeping hen on the ground and Maddie snatches her up. Betty was like, well, she caught her can she have her? Yes folks, I came home with a hen I did not need. She is in isolation. When I put her up last night she was so thirsty and was starving this morning. I do NOT need another hen, I don't. I also do not agree with chicken chases either. Maddie is going to try to talk her sister into bringing her up to her house and add to her flock. If not, she will either stay with me and be Maddie's or I will find her a home. Betty also told the kids parents to not let them bring another chicken tonight for a chase. I hope they listen, or I may end up with 2 new hens.
