Yes! They're ok. As @RoyalChick said, BREATHE! :hugs

Figure out where the opossum got in, fix that. Keep breathing. :hugs

Your reaction is totally normal, by the way. When I had to call 911 for my husband, I was totally calm, cool, and collected. When I got the hospital, I fell apart. (He was and is ok.)

Do what you need to do. Fix what you need to fix. Learn from the experience. And breathe. :hugs

Welcome to the Cream Legbar club!
Now @BY Bob needs to join. They lay guaranteed BLUE EGGS.
My beloved Roadrunners (Dotty and Minnie) were Crested Cream Legbars. I am familiar.
Pooh has more gold in her coloring than Dotty and Minnie.

Rest in Peace Dotty and Minnie - you are not forgotten my lovelies

Awww, I wanted to join the creme legbar club this august, but I just really, really, really don't want to put together another coop in this awful heat. Early spring for me!

Whichever of my pullets is laying green eggs keeps laying them on a shelf and then they roll off and crack! Stop it, lady!

Jamie short for Jameson, Jackie for Jack Daniel, no clue for Makers Mark. Did I mention I am crappy with names. My youngest has no middle name, lol. But for your pullet Brandy could be a good name.
I work with and/or am close friends with people named all of the above. I try to avoid names of current people. Also have a Dani in the family.

Really leaning towards Cardhu or Fiddich for that little chocolate one. Mama Storm had them out and about today

The all yellow is definitely feathering in white at the moment. Name debate will continue for a while, but lightning theme is holding top spot.

The marked yellow has a bit of pasty butt. I expect Storm will take care of that soon, but watching.

Gratuitous pic of Cumulo or Nimbus

I just had the biggest scare of my life.

No birds were killed

I came back home from my week vacation in North GA. I went out to the coop. Everyone was alive. Took my worries away.
Oh, Bolt laid an egg! Everyone is laying!
Why is it broken though? Just the top of it. Why are there Splotch/BBQ eggshells around the nest area?
There are Willow, Splotch, BBQ, and the Bolt eggs!
OMG THERE IS SOMETHING FURRY BEHIND THE NEST BOX!!
Well, a Opossum decided to sneak into my coop and eat my eggs. I immediately started crying (still am, this happened about 30 minutes ago, maybe a little more.) I was so scared. I just started thinking about how everyone could have died. I grabbed all if the girls and put them in Pastel's timeout coop, and where he stays while we are gone.

I am so freaking scared. If a Opossum could get in my coop, what else could? I feel bad for my chooks. They are going to be in a tiny coop for who knows how long.

I just can't imagine my life if they had been killed :hit I knew I lived them tons, but how I had a total panic attack... I'm still crying. I NEVER cry!

I am just so glad that they are okay.
Can you put electric fencing around the chicken compound? About 3 or 4 strands should keep out the bad beasties.
