Gaby and Agathae both squat for me. And Abigail did too. (a little push with my hands seemed to trick them-they think I am a real rooster and actually listen most of the time when I herd them into the coop).
Yes Bernie squats for me. She may be the rooster of the flock but I am the rooster's rooster.

Lovely group of chickens. I hear you have heard crowing so I was scrutinizing them. 3rd picture, white and black chicken. How about a full body close up shot of that one. I cannot zoom in close enough to tell for certain, but I would like to be able to see if those are sickle feathers I am spotting or just a illusion with the markings.
I wouldn't worry about crowing. My DC mom started doing a sick crow shortly after her chicks hatched this year. They are about 4 weeks old now, and I hear at least one 'strangled crow' daily from her in the morning when I give fresh feed and water and generally let everyone out. I'm assuming she is still crowing, but hubby has been doing the chores this past week. And she isn't that old - 4 I think (?maybe 5?) Nope - 4 she is a year younger than Crop Girl, who is 5.

Yesterdays 1st day of school picture with the offending hair cut. She has wore it the same for 8ish months now. I do not care what she does as long as she does not shave it or have wild colors put in it. It is her hair and I want her to have what makes her feel good about herself. Of course when crap happens like this morning she does not believe me when I tell her it looks good. I'm her mother and I am supposed to say things like that.

Two very lovely young ladies!
Looks great to me - but I am an old lady and my opinion therefore doesn't count. Oh wait, the person claiming it is a bad haircut is also an old lady. Ha! Her opinion doesn't count either!!
By the way, you may need to relent on wild color. I keep pondering a purple stripe for myself. Or a bright green one to match my green chickens.
I occasionally put semi-perm purple on mine. It colors my gray and leaves the brown pretty much alone. I love it
You are making me realize that mine are all overdue a good inspection. This lot are all very much against being handled so it will be a production for sure and have to happen in the middle of the night.
I can't handle mine either. I try to just get a look and check for anything that looks "off", but I can never handle them. God forbid I ever really need to treat bumblefoot.
Ok, let me rephrase that then, color period. I am not being mean about it, in fact she does not want color anyways. Rosie has thick hair, that can be difficult to deal with. We had a time this morning due to it raining straightening it for pictures. I prefer it be a little longer, but that is just me. She had it cut, thinned heavily and layered. She also deals with the top layer of her hair naturally straight, the lower half wants to curl or wave naturally so it can be a nightmare at times. I am afraid if she colored it, it would damage it and make it even more difficult to manage. She also normally never straightens it, today was special. Most times she showers at night, lets it air dry and brushes it before bed and in the morning. Half the time before the day is up she has it up in a clip.
Two words, hair chalk. Covers dark hair and you just seal it with hairspray. Washes right out. Zero damage. ;)

@Ponypoor I really hope your nest appointment gets results!

I have one with bumble foot too, this will be my first time treating for it as well. Please post what you do, if you have time and what helps or not and I will too. My chickens are also not to keen on being handled over much. I am thinking maybe a towel could come in handy to loosely wrap her while I do the vet wrap.
I also feel bad I missed it, like you it has never been an issue before and none are limping. I’m upset with checking them for lice and mites ...and i’ve been less serious checking their feet.

Quoting myself below from my thread on what I did today. My main problem apart from their skittishness is the number of chickens requiring treatment 🙁.
Tomorrow my partner will get a drawing salve and Epsom salts. I will be on my own at home so i’m not sure just what i’ll manage with the leghorns.
This afternoon we tried what we could with what we had, with Cannelle and Nougat : 20 mn lukewarm soaking, applying sugardine (mix of betadine and sugar as a drawing paste), putting a human corn dressing (finally some positive point about all that foot trouble : I have loads of those 🤣) and bandaging with vet wrap.

It didn't work very well, because both hens are human shy, and were terrorised. With Cannelle we did ok, and hers is the worse by far. Nougat's is slightly on the side, so it was more difficult to bandage. And it was one of those moments when you wonder why in the world you have chickens. We had just put her in the basin when she poopped in it 🤣. So we rinsed it and started again. She held up until we finished the bandage, and then I think it was from stress as she was really panting and struggling, she had a huge diarrhea all over our living room floor (tile luckily).
It took an hour 15 to do both hens and we realised that clearly it would not be possible for one of us alone, even wrapping the chicken up in a towel. So either the bandages hold until Sunday, either they will have to go bare foot again for a while. Tomorrow I will soak Merle who has just a tiny spot and try to catch the leghorns, but that really just doesn't seem possible. I might try to do them once they roost but not sure how that would go either. And I don't see myself doing it everyday for days, I'm in bed by the time they sleep.

@RoyalChick and @Sally PB : forgot to post this photo for you that my partner took a few days ago : an overgreedy honey bee ! We’ll be taking honey from the supers sunday morning. I still have some from last year.

I did purple with hair chalk - I didn't seal it with hair spray but it was remarkably effective nonetheless.
I thought I would wait until I am mostly grey and then do a big stripe of purple - I kinda like the grey around my face as it is - but when I had my hair cut last time the lady told me that I may never go fully grey so now I think I may need to just decide when to do it.
Maybe next birthday.

Wow - that is a marvelous photo. Was he still able to fly loaded up like that? Or did he have to shed some.
It reminds me of how Bernie and Babs stuff their crops so full in the evening that they defy the forces of gravity by staying upright!

I use arctic fox. I'm less than 50% gray and I love how it looks.

I had a mad busy couple of weeks. Yesterday I thought I'd never stop. I couldn't sleep when I got to bed and today I was told many people couldn't sleep last night for some reason :barnie

Tina was supposed too finish her medication yesterday but I decided to let her have the last couple of doses today. Just as an extra boost. The last one will be before bed.

Princess has been a real caring mama to her and I think she's been making her go into the coop at night because she's not been out on the perch this past five nights.
