Grandma wanted to see her babies once it got dark. If she wants to hold a chicken, she is getting to hold a chicken so off to the coop I went. I ended up bringing Owly, Dottie the speckled Sussex, Judy the rock and the the newly named Spooky inside one by one. Spooky is the solid black now 100% pullet that Raven naturally hatched and is now a keeper. For 30 minutes she was loving on and petting the chicks and happy. She allowed me 2 pictures while she was holding Owly under the condition they did not hit facebook. Well, this is not facebook so here we go.

Your gran must be a kindred spirit of chickens, it’s so sweet how she has to start her day with those eggs and end the day with the chicks

Are you all fed up with guests?

The outer shell of a black walnut. It's supposed to be green but because there was rain and it was on the ground, it was a grimy black.
We only prefer grown up guests. Grandma is friendly to all guests, but I think she prefer she us, her owners.

Is there something from her childhood that created this affinity with chickens?
