Right now my Azurs lay every day, and my silkies, Rose is laying most days, and I haven’t seen and egg from Buttercup in a couple days - maybe she is starting to mount. Everyone else is moulting so no green eggs. And Raven hasn’t laid an egg in a couple days - that I can find at least haha!

So some days I only get 3 or 4, and other days maybe 7 or 8.

I don’t mind them taking a break in fact I am happy they do take a break. They can rebuild their calcium supply in their bones, moult and get new feathers for keeping warm, and just relax and not worry about about laying eggs in nest boxes.
I believe there must be some rule in the Chicken Palace that not more than two hens can lay. I got up to 4 with Sylvie and Piglet added to Bernie and Babs.
So Sylvie went broody and Bernie stopped laying.

Hello ladies and is that Jaffar there?

I am so glad your Dr looked at your kitty-cat injuries, thank you for doing that - you know I am a worry-wart 😊
Sir Jaffar is a good protector. Usually he is with his ladies. But there are some other days he prefers to be alone (like Sir Lancelot in the court of Camelot )

I get usually 30 eggs a day. But with my first 8 pullets I got approximately 8 eggs a day.
I have 48 chickens (roosters included). Chicken math! Some of them are either molting or taking a break.

You should name a rooster Lancelot. That would be so cute. Now I wish that I'd named Sir Cuckoo differently and called him Sir Lancelot.

That’s so much fun for them to get out there, do you have scorpions and large spiders? If so do your chickens kill and eat them? Or do they give them a wide space for safety?
I do have scorpions, but I don't see them very much.... unless it's August of 2023 right after a tropical storm! They seem to come out after heavy rains! As for the spiders, they are not very large, but we have brown recluses and black widows. I have seen one of my chickens eat a black widow!

I also love your signature by the way!
It's like a little poem!

So what do you do with the remains after you have made stock/soup?
That is what I am talking about.
Bury under the compost pile (like, 3' down below grade, plus a few feet of compost on top of that. When hubby doesn't throw them in the trash. (He is a work in progress!)
