Kidbitty and puppydog playing in the snow. The dog was very worried about the kid going where it was deep and kept nudging her towards shallow snow.

Sure is pretty though...
Told hubby I need at least rubber boots, or snow boots. Something I can wear wool socks under!

I’ve got rubber barn boots with good tread I can slip in and out of, sized about one size bigger. I added a foot pad you can cut to size and a Dr Scholls type of arch support thing that are both insulating for the bottom, and make it feel more like a fitted boot. It’s big enough I can wear thick wool socks in there too.

As I went out too feed my girls and change their water bowls. I had the most lovely surprise.
The tree at the top of my back garden has an old bird house which has managed to get stuck in the branches and settled on its side. I heard little happy tweeting going on as I changed the water bowl below. There's little ones happily chirping away inside that house and I suspect it's Robins. One of my favourite wild species

Awesome yes, but still in range of the T-Rex and confused giraffes !

The door is a regular human door and it is 8” elevated off the floor. Above the door is another 10” or so.
So 9’-9’6” up. Maybe a bit more because she cleared the rim of the gutter.
Silly girl. She is so confused.

An adult male giraffe has a reach of 18 feet (just saying)

Funny. I think my vet would have more of an attitude that was to make sure I am informed and then it is my choice.
She even advised against using State lab for necropsy if I suspected AI.

Yes sad, I know Berndt would be happy to supply me with any meds I need for my chooks so I am thrilled for that. He is semi retired though so I might stock up on stuff like Baytril and amoxicillin. Not sure of the shelf life for them…. Also some meds for the horses - pain meds and prednisone for my wheezy pony.

I have a new Vet in mind who is also likely coming to retirement age… but he is familiar with my horses at least where I board them.
