Has anyone had a hen stop for molting, grow in her feathers, lay 4 eggs, and then stop again?
Yup. That happens.

While many hens seem to stop laying during their molt, not all hens stop laying during molting. For example, Lady Featherington is still laying while in the middle of her molt.

Egg laying is determined by daylight. There is not enough daylight now for her to lay any longer but there was when she stopped molting so she started back up.

I was *sure* that Robin would lay her very first egg while I was gone. Nope, she waited until I got home. She's still waiting. And so am I! :lau

11 days since the last egg. Has anyone had a hen stop for molting, grow in her feathers, lay 4 eggs, and then stop again? 3 year old, she knows where to lay, no hidden anything in the run.

Store bought eggs are cheap. In price and flavor. :hmm
My church friend who buys my eggs, told me today that she misses them. And the store bought ones don’t even compare to the ones my chooks lay.

I find chickens harassing a dog funny. I'd love to see video of that! I hope someone provided guidance on how to do that

I had hoped to post a video! No cigar.
So far I’ve tried Flickr, Facebook, and Spotify… and I haven’t figured out how to link to a video without also attaching my personal data. Which route do you recommend?

You tube and vimeo work.
