Oh my gosh!! Is that a fox during the day!?!
We have some in a nearby neighborhood and I wasn’t too concerned but if they attack during the day it looks like Ima need a gun!!! A real gun!... not a paintball gun 😬.... they are cute but I will kill them if they try to get my gals!
Get a gun then. They are out in the day here a lot. Mrs BY Bob and I were discussing the same thing last night. I think the nerf ball gun will be enough to scare it off. I can't fire an actual gun here in the suburbs.

Oh yeah... we are rural so we can ;)... I think I might be scared to though.. but then again, if my gals are in danger... watch out foxy!

Fox proof finished is what i meant. You are correct. It seems like a coop is never actually done.

Everyone knew what that was running around the coop though didn't they. I'm sure the littles have never seen one before but they knew.
Actually, once my heart stopped racing that was what was so interesting.
The Princesses were quite clear they needed to get as far away from that red beast as possible. Remember though, they have had experience (RIP Scary).
The Young Ladies were clearly unhappy - but I am not sure they understood the concept of 'fox', I think they were more taking their lead from the Princesses.
I hope they have now learned that lesson and will be smart next time they see one of those 4-legged foes.

Yes in the day. Foxes are not nocturnal, they are around day and night. I had seen one far away in the woods the previous day and was admiring how good the chickens' eyesight is as they were very aware of him even though he was a long way away.

I find them quite lovely, I just don't want them to take any of my chickens. They are quite scared of people so I find running towards them shouting and waving my arms usually sees them off pretty fast.

I've been 'organizing' my chicken hard drive. I got drawn in to the pictures as one does.
This is Moon when she was younger. I love this picture of her.

Tackle is still limping a bit. I've just has a good look at the underside of her foot again and I can't see any foreign objects. I'm going to have to grab her tomorrow and have another look at the top of her leg and under her wing in case I've missed something. She's getting around okay and can run but the limp is noticable.
