I just love this post.He better watch out, there's quite a few locals who'd fight for a dead squirrel!!![]()
What are you thinking of getting Lozzy?
(She asks innocently...)
I really hope it all went well. I can't wait to set pictures of themAnd i am on pins and needles now. Holly is on day 19 of incubation. 8 eggs under her, 7 maran and 1 of Henreitta x Toothless. When i went out to refill water buckets for the horses a few minutes ago i heard her softly clucking. I had to go check, one of her eggs has the beginnings of a pip! After the fiasco and almost loosing clover 2 weeks ago when nugget hatched i'll be monitoring these closely. Thankfully Holly is way more tolerant of me messing with her than nugget is. Clover and Bread were 2 weeks old Monday, and that devil hen still comes at me if she even thinks i'm about to touch them. It really makes cleaning and refilling their food and water dishes fun, and painful.
This is not hijacking, this is participation. I love seeing everyone's flocks. They are beautiful!Sorry to hijack BYB Bob. Here are some of my pics.

Those are spectacular. Thanks for posting.I know I’ve posted these pics before but thought I’d share again since yall were talking Eagles! Where we used to live I’d see them all the time and obviously up close... there was a big pond next to our house and this one swooped down and got a fish.. he ate it in a nearby tree and I got some pics... I was pretty close to it... so sad such poor quality though! They are truly majestic!! I LOVE seeing them.. but where we are now I hardly do...View attachment 2307100View attachment 2307101View attachment 2307102View attachment 2307103View attachment 2307104View attachment 2307105

I'm so glad the fire threat has lessened. At least that is one stress lowered. Glad to hear the sick hens are holding steady. I hope things smooth out for you soon.Aw, thanks, Lozzy! I’m fine... for a few days there, I was pretty stressed we might have to evacuate, but at the moment, things are looking good. I’m so grateful!
My three sickies (Ruby with hormone-driven issue controlled with implants, Roxy with bleeding intestines that made her anemic, and Dorothy who has trouble making eggshells properly) are all still with us and seem to be doing relatively well. Except for the molters, the others seem pretty good, also. I’m raising three chicks in the kichen since my broody, Little Mill, rejected them.
Work is as busy as ever (had a board meeting tonight). My son went back to college. I started my first veggie garden (can you believe I am 50 and have just started this now???) I’m tired and a little edgy, but also so thankful to have my health, my family, my friends, my flock and a job. 2020 is the most bizarre year... one for the books!
I hope you are doing well and will try to sift through all the posts I’ve missed and catch up.
It's as scary a moment we've had around here in a long time. I'm so glad I got him through it. He better grow to be an outstanding fellow after that.OMG, Bob! I’m skipping back and forth looking for what I missed and found the Ned-in-Pool scare! I’m so glad he survived that! Poor baby!
