CAUTION @RoyalChick moult pics

They've settled down for the most part. I think Cardhu’s skittishness is a lingering result. I also think the eggs in the coop are a partial result (colder temps being the other). Twirp and Whiskey seem totally recovered (aside from growing feathers). Whiskey was courting Storm this morning and Twirp has been giving Tuff the EYE. He's figuratively tucking his tail and retreating. Good girl. I do think she's still feeling some aches, but can't tell if from the dog or from moulting.View attachment 3689950Twirp looks decidedly rumpled and Nimbus looks HUGE next to her. I think Nimbus is going to have Hector's size (or be a throwback to great grandparent with the Marans build in Storm's background)

View attachment 3689949Lark is sprouting feathers everywhere, and losing more: the wing, NO I'M NOT TOUCHING IT!

Cumulo is just a tiny bit larger, so a noticeable difference with her sister. She's also got the larger fascinator crest from great grandparent, so interesting seeing just how different the 2 are developing.

Of the 3, I think Cardhu will lay first. She's sprouting wattles and pinking quickly. Whether she will lay before Havoc and Enigma or not, I have no idea. Will be watching for it.
Havoc will lay first. $10 on Havoc, Cardhu will be next in line

And say they bother wait till February, and Cardhu first (yes I have a crystal ball).
I am thinking Pooh and Calypso will wait until spring and that Sylvie will wait until then to start up again.

Thanksgiving for chickens. Some egg custard pie that nobody liked, raw cauliflower, and some turkey scraps.

My brother likes the name theme we have going, and got to pet Kasumi and Shep. Shep is as soft as a kitten! If only Samara trusted me enough to cuddle, he would have really enjoyed petting her.

Bernie has almost completely regrown her tail and her front is looking less rumpled.
That seemed to signal to her that is was time to shed almost all her neck feathers this afternoon.
Meanwhile Babs still shows no sign of molting.
Crazy chickens!

Yes crazy here too, Blanche is now losing wing feathers! As long as she doesn’t go bald like Sophia it’s all good.
