That's amazing! How many amps did it take to do that?
It looks like our utility lines carry an ave of 700 Amps. It also depends on weather and temp. Found this on the web - amp rating on power lines

Table shows amp ratings for one type of stranded bare aluminum conductor exposed to different ambient conditions. 77° to 104°F with sun and wind and without. Wind and and no sun cools power lines. Typical distribution line might be 900 kcmil or about 7/8" diameter. Power lines can carry more amps on cool windy days. Heat works against electric transmission and distribution. Aluminum is relatively inexpensive, abundant, lightweight, strong, durable, and conductive, making aluminum and aluminum alloy conductors the best choice for transmission and distribution lines.

Yall, I thought the bunny had mites so I brought her to a vet and found out that this vet also sees chickens! So now I have a chicken and bunny vet! And, no mites :celebrate
Plus, just for FYI... bunny mites cannot transfer to chickens and vice versa... that was my main concern when I went on the bunny thread ... and why I ran to the vet! I needed piece of mind!
You are very lucky. That's great news! A chicken vet. They are as rare as a hen's tooth around here.

They know how to Break your Heart

Sydney was back on the nest this afternoon.

So I went and removed all the eggs, ceramic included, and I removed Sydney. She came to the house with the flock and had some mealy worms.

And then she went back to the empty nest to sit.

Why is she sitting on no eggs? It's just sad. 🥺
Poor girl. Millie also sat on nothing. When I removed her from the box, she kept her pancake stance on the table. LOL.

A while back when I was without power for 5 days I mentioned how the live wire had turned the dirt to glass.
@BY Bob I think you said you were interested in seeing it. Of course I forgot but was in that area just now ‘cos another branch came down so I took some pics.
A bit difficult to show properly but I took some shots of the whole scorched area and some close-ups of the edges of the hole that the wire punched through the dirt and then I broke off some of the glass bits. Here goes (sorry if boring and not chicken related):

FASCINATING!

I have many mean hens. She would fit right in. 😆 Sometimes I wonder what makes them behave like that. I've seen Lilly do the same.

Those pictures are hysterical. :gig:lau:gig:lau

Those who are late must sleep outside. Mine have gathered on the porch many times waiting for Lilly to go to bed. I have even picked up Lilly and held her while the others go to bed because as I told her, she was being crazy.
I did exactly that with Tsuki at the time. Even told the others it was safe to enter but they didn't believe me!
