Pretty chooks, and pretty eggs!

Well truth be told Bay is my favourite colour - easy to keep clean yes Truly is a handful, she has had me off once when she was still green but only once! Lulu hates ring work, and Reenie gets it into her head she is still at the track. Each one is handled differently

Just like our chooks, each has to be handled in their own way. Mr P, now he is very hands off, but Fluffy and Curly are very much in your face wanting treats.

I bought eight new hens. They will be here March 12-14. Any guesses on what they are? Think of the chicken Queen Aurora wanted to flip.

Sunny laid an egg today! I think it's her second, actually, but I'm not certain. So 4 of my 5 pullets are laying now. That just leaves little Pip who isn't laying right now. That's ok.

Awwww I am sorry, but it’s nice they are taking a break. My older girls are all taking a break - I know their eggs, and my nieces hens lay whoppers of size eggs so non of the eggs are theirs. My Grey Ladies are back laying and the darker green/blue eggs are theirs. All the others are the pullets, Azurs and Fluffy.

That is a very lovely selection of eggs you have. I really love the top row's colors. This coming from me, who strives for dark brown eggs, the darker the better. Rosie saw them as well, her favorite is the middle one in the middle row. She pointed and was "THIS.....Owly needs to lay THAT color!" I reminded her that until this point she and sis both were saying she had to lay blue and that is obviously a green egg. Well, sis can get over the blue egg she wants green now. Poor Owly, little girl lay pink for me. A Blue or Green egg will not be required to make me happy, being you makes me happy.

Might be Misty or Whiskers laying that egg - they both lay a blue/green egg.

Owly might lay pink - look at my shocker with Butterscotch! I was so sure she would lay blue eggs! She must be Sophia or Blanches baby. The others lay blue/green eggs. Or maybe Rose - oh actually I would say Rose is Buttercups egg mama. now that I think about it.

It is Whiskey. He is a buff orp x ee mixed with not quite sure which hen, but I think wyandotte from the in-laws birds. Cheetah is pure GOLD penciled hamburg. No silver spangled, mix or not. Would like some. Would like more golds too. They're alert little things.
