Blue eggs from both! Well, that’s great, albeit not the “green!” I anticipated.

Tassels when she deigns to lay at all, lays dark green eggs. Army green. But she only laid a few and then stopped.

Cheetah (gold penciled feathers) Blanche, and PITA (both are splash) all have slate blue legs. Breed egg color: white. (Offspring of this mix have black legs, blue feathers, gold leakage, lay white eggs)

Twirp has willow green legs and lays blue eggs.

I have several with black shanks, yellow skin. Egg color: brown, green

White skin: egg color: brown, white, green eggs

Yellow skin/legs: brown eggs

Feather color varies compared to shank/ skin color too.

I noticed the wee Bert has green legs I’ll have to check Betty’s leg colour tomorrow. I wonder what colour eggs she will lay? Mama is silkie who lays pink eggs.

That happened with my parents over the cats. My Dad said basically it was the cats or him. As a kid I was terrified what that might mean. My mother didn't really respond, but in a half-hearted way looked for rehoming opportunities for some of them.
One day a couple came to look at one of the black cats, and the woman said to the guy: "I wanted one with more white on it".
My Dad was overheard in the front yard saying: "You don't need to take her - I think she looks very elegant just the way she is" and then he snatched the cat back out of their arms and stomped into the house with her.
Yup. Game over at that point. All the cats stayed and that black cat could on occasion be found snuck on to his lap while my Dad had a nap in his chair.
He went to his grave claiming he hated the cats but he wept buckets whenever one died and over the years many other cats managed to become Dad lap cats.
Poor Dad - he was such a softy really!


Bittersweet memory tax: Maggie. I think Dad would have appreciated Maggie. I miss them both.

It’s definitely Coco filling up my empty egg cartons. Another one today. That’s every day this week plus one. I’m going to need to pour on some more calcium in their diets now.
That chicken is a special lady. I knew it from the very first day she was with me.
