It's a shame she doesn't post anymore. She's got a great sense of humour and can write well.
I know - I think the window is hopefully soon coming to the end of its stint as a roost. They are not going to fit in that window much longer. My gosh they have grown! They are super cute right now.
Maggie was not mean to them at all. That was mild. Her fluffy butt is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
They are so much fun at this stage. Make time to enjoy them. It does not last long.I know - I think the window is hopefully soon coming to the end of its stint as a roost.
They are totally cute right now and are at a really playful stage. They fly really well (in spite of appearances from Dotty's performance on the window) and run really fast, and they chase each other all over the Palace ground peeping and sometimes honking at each other.
Total joy!![]()

I see the wear spots, poor girl. I just love pictures of chickens on fences, I'm not certain why. It's a Hurry day. You can't tell me she's playing with a full deck.
She's having a minor moult but she, like her mother (Ruffles) has fragile (relatively speaking) feathers. She has two bare shoulder patches from mating which I'm having to keep an eye on.
I keep telling her to stay up on that fence rail and the boys won't bother her.

I just love the browns in your hen's feathers. They are true browns and I think the color is really rich. This is from yesterday when Tap got evicted from the nest box by Fudge.
