Crazy, right? A couple of mine have laid on the poop board or floor instead oglf fibdinvvs second box. Four of them like to lay “upstairs” in tge second level. This actually makes a bit if sense to me. It’s the three lowest ranked girls (one year olds) and Buttercup, who is quite large for the stupidly small boxes we put in before we knew what we were doing.
It is amazing what we learn AFTER building the coop, isn't it?

I think that my Brady Bunch might be cream legbar X... can you see the sticky up hair showing!? She seems to be the only one doing this... so we’ll see... I can’t wait! It’s so hard to get a good pic of them in the ‘see no touch’ section... View attachment 2326443
I see it!

Well, folks, I did a little catching up, but now my have a quick shower and get on with my day. The whole state of California seems to be on fire. The local one that threatened us is under control, but there is do much smoke from all the fires everywhere, it was dark (like dusk) most of the day yesterday. The girls were confused when I let thdm out after 7:00am... why are you opening the door when we’re still sleeping? I was make sure to get a visual on each and every morning… Just make sure she’s come out of the coop and is behaving normally. Oh my heart started racing when Ruby didn’t come out… Did something happen to her overnight??? Well, I found her in the upper level of the coop pacing back-and-forth I’m not sure what to do. She couldn’t see to get down! When I turned on a little light in coaxed her down, she was fine. That’s how dark it was here! I’ll also try to get some chick pics this weekend.

Maybe I will call him Bob , hahahaha :clap

I love these pics. You have so much nice, lush green. It’s hard to keep just my mini chicken pasture green this time of year.
Thank you. It is one of the things I love about living here. We were browning up pretty bad July through mid August, I did not mow my lawn for weeks. The rains started coming again, I think it was mid August. Everything is lush again. It is raining right now. 🌧

That has to be so frightening. I can only imagine how confused the chooks are. Will you start using the light now so they know it's day time?
