This afternoon while out collecting eggs I heard it. The egg song. I stop, listen, is it? Yes it Is! That song is from a voice I have yet to hear and coming from the coop. Immediately stop what I am doing to rush to the coop where Poppet is singing the song of her people to the world. Sling open the door, she escapes continuing to sing and start searching. That little brat faked me out and lied. No egg and a Poppet happily planted in the middle of Russ's stall digging away. I mutter to myself, go finish collecting the eggs the good girls laid and then play ring around the rosie with her in Russ's stall. It is a wet rainy day little lady, back in the coop you go.

My family was commenting in a family group chat about the cold and how their critters responded to it.

My comment:

Sherlock wants out....then promptly wants right back in. Castor came out for breakfast, chickens demanded breakfast in bed.

Sir Jaffar became upset over that San Andreas earthquake scenario documentary. He has been neurotic about it ever since.
I tried to explain to him that earthquakes were not anyone’s fault in particular.
He’s now refusing steak treats. No crackers either.

For sure! My dad would occasionally make bread growing up, and I used the family bread maker until it died. Hubby immediately bought me a really nice one that I'm making sure to maintain!View attachment 3724495
