I’m not paying a cent for the labor. I don’t mind losing the trees, but they weren’t bothering me either.
Still - I would be pretty steamed over damages.

But as long as no one is injured, and all chooks are ok, then I guess that’s a good thing.

I am always unhappy at the loss of trees and surely you benefit from the shade?
If they are over hanging his neighbour’s place it’s not a good thing, better to take care of a problem before anything happens.

In my case I had to remove trees that were causing issues with the roof and power lines, mum wants another tree cut down but I really don’t have $1000 - the tree is likely close to 70yrs old but I am hoping it will last another 50 years! I won’t be here by then so I won’t care.

Surprisingly there was not much drama this morning when I opened the door. I may as well leave the door open as long as it’s mild.

Oh and those pullets are going to drive me batty, poor Mr P is just pecked to pieces on his head 😢 I feel like I may need to lock him away in the Summer House with some of the older ladies for a few days to let his wounds heal. I so wish I still had some of that blue spray I had with the horses.

Any suggestions anyone to stop them pecking him?
Get more of the blue stuff? I used Blukote for when Vulture got scalped, and to its credit nobody picked at her wound when she did get brought back around.

Although I’m curious what they’re pecking at in the first place. Is it the bases of his cut feathers that look like they need to be groomed out? Or wound picking? For the original peck, was he just dirty? Yea maybe keeping him with the old girls for a week or so to help him heal could help.

My property and buildings, have seen a couple of scrapes and scratches. Like an old man who has been living a long time. Bumps and bruises are certainly present.
I just can’t do everything that I used to be able to do, and it’s getting harder every year

Does anyone know what's going on with Agathae?
She's been tilting her head back, puffing her neck, opening her beak wide, shaking her head, and then going back to normal. Why is she doing this?
Possibly she’s got something stuck in her sinuses. But I don’t know :idunno
