The tax - do you mean RC's question about seeing blue in Tassel's inner shell? That was Pony and others. But I don't think poll questions, which are subjective, require tax if more than one has answered. And the answers RC gets will have more weight if several answer in concurrence. Suppose someone says No, they don't see blue there? They have also answered RC's question along with others. Is tax due? Eh, @BY Bob ? Just my opinion. I like seeing chicken pictures anyway...

And when I find out who gave me this I will make them do my chores.

Evil headache, funny throat, feel blah….

I woke up with the headache figured it was a migraine, that was 5am, I have a whole arsenal of pain meds and nothing got rid of the headache. Now my throat is acting up. No use denyin it. I am sick.

Nothing to do but suck it up and just keep on working I guess. And give the gift that keeps on giving….

Thanks - tis the season as I have been saying. At least it’s a long weekend so tomorrow I don’t have to worry about going in to work!

I think you need to take a trip to Rural King, Tractor Supply or a local farm store that sells chicks. Walk in, stare at the chicks for a bit and then pick out those who speak to you. That is how I ended up with the Speckled Suspects aka Sussex, and Owly. I went with the intentions of Barred Rocks and Bielfielders. Sold out of the bielfielders but had the rocks. I did not want 8 rocks so I decided on 2 then spent time looking at my other options. I decided on the EEs next, and then spotted the suspects. They were on a short list in the past but never had them when I was ready for chicks so yup, 2 of them. Wanted 8 total so then decided on the 2 wyandottes who unfortunately passed a few days later.

It was a good thing they were sold out of all bantams. They had a sign that silkies were previously in their bantam bin. I would have came home with 8 silkies and nothing else knowing me.

And all straight run don’t you know and would have been 7 cockerels and one pullet

She runs back to the coop again! Maybe I should lock her in the nursery, but she is just walking away from the nest that I made her.

Maybe she is working on passing an egg. I have had Marty act all weird in the past with passing soft eggs.

They went outside for about 10 minutes to peck at some grass that showed through where I shovelled. It was nice and sunny and +1C.

I also took Truly’s blanket off as she was looking warm.

Not 10 min after I removed her blanket we had a blizzard/snow squall tear through here ! The chooks ran for cover and I ran to close the front barn door, and get the horses in - it was gone 5pm so time to come in.

Poor Truly had 3” of snow on her by the time I put the feed buckets in their stalls and opened the back barn door for them - ooops! But I was not expecting that snow squall it blew in so fast and furious, then about 10 min after I got the horses in it was over!
