I decided that I will keep her in the coop with the others tonight. I don't know if she's broody or sick or getting terrorized by another chicken. I will wake up early in the morning tommorow and see what is going on.

She might be stressed away from her friends. At the same time I don't want her to be cold and alone in the nursery because rain is due tonight and the low is 48°
Yes, so I'm keeping her in the coop for tonight. She might be stressed away from her friends.

1. Nope, no puffing out.2 questions.
1. When she is running back to her corner does she have her feathers all puffed out like a angry tom turkey?
2. Is she making clucking noises that sounds like a ticking time bomb?
The isolating herself and then mad dashes back to that corner does not indicate sick chicken to me. It sounds more like a broody hen who has picked her spot and eggs or not she is staying put.
Also if you can take a quick trip out there. Pick her up and see if she has plucked her chest feathers. If she has or is starting to there is your answer, broody girl.
Avalon is a very bold girl, I can see her as future leader someday. If/when she decides to fully brood some chicks I absolutely will need to come up with a strategy, she was not even fully serious about sitting yet! This is the same girl who routinely chases the cats away when they are let out to peck around.Interesting about Avalon! You're going to have to suit up![]()
The tax - do you mean RC's question about seeing blue in Tassel's inner shell? That was Pony and others. But I don't think poll questions, which are subjective, require tax if more than one has answered. And the answers RC gets will have more weight if several answer in concurrence. Suppose someone says No, they don't see blue there? They have also answered RC's question along with others. Is tax due? Eh, @BY Bob ? Just my opinion. I like seeing chicken pictures anyway...
I am not an experienced dog person, but I think your idea of not playing every time while outside might be good. His training could also involve more “work” oriented things maybe, as in accompanying you on chores while behaving properly. He might be confusing the chickens with play, you suggested? I haven’t seen anyone note yet that Sherlock (seems to me) though terrifying the chickens actually demonstrated some training with this incident, right? He restrained himself enough to not actually kill anyone, just mouthed them, as in play (the soggy chickens). Just a guess but I’ve seen that in kittens, with dogs who recognize them as some degree of family members. And as of this morning, I have feathers tucked into the windo frame of my brooder tote and more scattered on the floor around the kitchen and living room. They are to be LEFT ALONE. And Sherlock WILL learn this. We will be getting babies to raise in the house to work on this too.
While I prefer more tax rather than less a poll question in which others answer the same way does not require tax.Interesting about Avalon! You're going to have to suit up![]()
