All this talk about colors got be curious about something so I hopped over to a genetics calculator to see what came of it.

Barred markings are fairly dominate over everything. Purebred roos have 2 copies of the barring and will give it to all their offspring.

White comes in 2 types: recessive and dominate. Dom white covers everything.

Which comes out on top? Barring or Dom white?

According to the calculator, you end up with white birds with white barring. The Dom white covers the barring.

Using a barred hen and a Dom white roo gets the same look (white birds), but only the roo offspring carry the barring.

Speculation: maybe get some faint/light barred leaking through?
I wonder... The roo that I had once, Ijak and Buffy's son, (Dom X BO) had very dark brown barring with white and black barring on his neck and golden wings... very interesting.

Ok folks, after this may not be on much today. Grandma has been up a hour and I have a worrying feeling. She has complained that her shoulder is hurting her. She is blaming it on that she slept on her side and it is a crick in her neck. No, she slept flat on her back last night. Her O2 stat was also down a little bit this morning. She is in the middle of a breathing treatment. She also was not able to eat her breakfast, 2 bites and she got sick. I want to believe this is nothing. I hope I am right, but, something just feels off.
Praying for you all. :hugs :hugs :hugs

Would this be like a Palomino? One needs a chestnut horse and a Cremello which acts as the diluting gene on the Cheatnut to give that yellow body with white mane and tail Palomino.

But if you breed two palomino your have a 25% chance of a chestnut and a 25% chance of a Cremello.

If you bred two greys would one get a lavender and a black ?????
You’d get a zebra 🦓

A turtle that Lety and her friend rescued yesterday. Somebody tried to run over with a car and damaged it's shell near it's rear end. They repaired the shell and we gave food and water last night. It ate a good bit of lettuce and turtle food. Lety placed it in the sun and once it got warm enough he walked back to the shade.View attachment 3756129
You can’t ever call a turtle homeless, can you? 🤔
