Extremely. And if you had not named dropped I would have never gone there. I actually do that with a lot of things people post. I've learned and enjoyed quite a bit that way.
We think alike in that regard. :) I mightn't say aloud but I will often go look up stuff casually mentioned. That's how I learn. :D

I'd like to know why it is considered weird if you do poop checks on your animals. Coming from having horses before we got chickens poop checks are 2nd nature to me. It takes just a few minutes each day while cleaning to know what's normal for your birds.
It's not weird

These are outstanding! Thank you so much. A great giggle for a Saturday morning. I can't imagine any of us, other than maybe Shadrach, could do any better.

The homemade ones really demonstrate the power of duct tape. You are a regular Red Green with that build!

I had to look up Red Green. :D Looks like he was channeling the Mythbusters!

I would find that useful, I think. Interesting if not. I have had the same experience as you @Shadrach many of the seemingly normal pops here cause panic and treatment elsewhere. Lilly has had some of them for 5 years now.

I think there are some basic rules but I believe it is observation of what is not normal for your flock that is important.
Yes, agree. Definitely know what normal looks like for your flock and take note of drastic changes. When I said I look for the green poops, I should have been more clear. It’s specifically watery poops with small chunks if bright kelly green worry me. I’ve only seen it twice, both with hens that were withering away from not eating.

Gosh that looks really difficult! It does make you wonder how the bagpipes every got invented in the first place if you see what I mean!

I never would have guessed how hard it was until I had a go. You’ve got to squeeze the bag really hard so it forces air down the chanter and I just couldn’t do it.

I don't think it is weird. I do it, I just feel I may not be sufficiently educated as all I have to compare it with is all the days before. Given there seem to be a wide variety of poop 'styles' (I doubt that is the right word!) in the Chicken Palace (not to say a wide variety of poop locations mainly associated with where I want to sit down) my view of 'normal' is quite broad so any pointers on what might be considered unusual is always helpful.
