I supplied supplemental heat and locked them in the coop for 3 days until it warmed back up. I was so worried for her.
Hepzibah molted for weeks. it looked like a BR snow storm in the run but she never looked defeathered or half naked like Namaste. Namaste went up & down. I'd think she was doing well & her feathers started growing back, then she'd have a bad day ~ & recover . Then another lot of feathers would come out & she'd look worse than ever.

Poor Namaste. :hugs

Hey everyone, I had the idea that we should find our funniest photos of our chooks and share them. I’d like to offer up one of my favourite pictures of Chickie, who decided that as she is a bird, she should be in a tree. She got in there by herself, turned around and hopped out again. I tried getting a video but only got a few seconds. It’s also a fluffy butt photo! :thumbsup

What lovely chooks you have! :love
Aw, thank you. I know they are not the most exciting or exotic breeds but the garden’s primary objective is eggs, eggs, eggs and no brooding so this is what I’ve got. One day maybe I’ll have my own and try those Easter Eggers, Australorps, and Ameraucanas!

But they are young, happy and so fun to watch. Here are 10 week old fluffy butts 987D396A-2DFA-4B6B-9D8B-1C2AB258D0C5.jpeg for ByBob:

Love those fluffy butts! :love Heads up though; Australorps get broody! :barnie

Not my Australorps! :) But I have a BR who's a right royal pain all summer long. On the plus side my BRs laid all winter.

D’oh, lucky you! Hopefully Charlie doesn’t get broody too often and I can get her out of it quickly when she does. I was wondering yesterday if Bessie had still been alive, whether she would have gone broody too (and at the same time!)
