They're exploring and mostly left alone. Tote still there if they need it/if someone goes broody behind it. The older group is getting to tight squeeze getting in, so they need to be moving anyway. Plus broodies would have had them off the ground before they got moved into the coop. I'm pushing them a bit, but they all seemed to settle in before I left the coop.

They sure are getting big! I keep forgetting how fast they grow

Well seems we had more snow than o was expecting.

I am sure it will be a winter wonderland when the sun comes up.

And the chooks enjoyed some frozen wild water, yummy it’s the best!

I had a dream that fast food prices went sky high. So I went online to find out that my dream was actually reality. Seems I will be cooking at home due to this inflation madness. Not just fast food but everything else it seems. I’m scared to go clothes shopping, to find out that being naked is cheaper!!! Gezzz!

Here’s a gift::: the veterinarian said that Jaffar’s good eye is responding well. His comb and wattles were healing nicely. He’s a bit under weight, and was prescribed a supplement diet.
As I thought, his eyesight is limited to only one eye. His vision is impaired and he has no depth perception. We’re heading towards home now.

That sounds like a pretty good outcome.

Honestly, at this time in my life, losing him would devastate me in many ways. I never thought I’d be in such love with a rooster as him!

A roosting miracle.
Everyone is together on the big roost. I can’t believe it! I wonder how the truce with Piglet was negotiated. Everyone seems very happy with the arrangement.

Hattie actually roosted last night for the first time in months. I have no idea why.

The hens are all fine. Five eggs today. Dakota was all bent because I took Sir Jaffar with me. She even tried to bite me.
I’m betting that she just wanted my last can of corn . (No salt)

You should see the way Dakota eats canned corn. She eats faster than Biden inflates our economy! That’s darn fast!
