More Sounds of the Season

It is so quiet this morning you can hear the interstate highway a few miles away. Listen to the rustle of those leaves. Fall is here.
The wildbirds are very interesting - their songs are so different to what I'm used to. Right now, I can hear doves cooing, a blackbird being very musical and some sparrows tweeting.

The magpies in my neighbourhood live up the street and only visit my house to prank the doves. So I don't get to hear
magpies carolling very often. Ah! I just heard one do that screechy two tone call, but no carolling. In terms of parrots, it's usually grass parrots. Small, fast, and chattery.

We get Lorikeets in our backyard, which is sweet. We also get Indian Mynahs nesting in our roof, which is not so sweet. :he

I’ve got some more favourite pictures. This one is when when we still had Penny and they were having a communal sun-baking session.

This one was when I was still supervising the free-ranging. I sat on the banana-lounge whilst they were off digging and when they were done, they came and sat companionably with me. Chickie’s off to the left under the slide, Lucy’s sitting closest to me and Penny’s in the middle with her back to the camera. She must have trusted me enough to have her back to me.
