Just wanted to post about the wildfires in Alberta. Jasper is on fire

Hope @LhickenChicken is ok out there, jasper is at least a 4 hr drive from Edmonton area but I bet smoke is bad.

Yes I can imagine.

But we need transportation here, don’t we? Everything here in NA is so far apart! And no real good options for public transit. And if there is public transportation it too is expensive!

You are right. That’s why I have Marie. Everything that I actually need of any importance, is 100 or more miles away. I find flying easier than driving such distances.

That explains where the smoke we've been getting hit with is coming from. The local fires aren't enough to produce all of it. The air quality map...and it just keeps going...

The close fire here as of the last update I saw had been entirely surrounded by a bare earth fire break. Still under a hundred acres. Last night's wind may have changed that, but updates are available yet today. The last update does say it's 40% contained, and they're working on cooling th smoldering hot spots.

I have been following the news about the wild fires north of here. About San Francisco and the fires in the Sierra Nevada mountains that threaten even my properties. It’s a scary thought to have lost everything that has been built due to a devastating fire. I pray that nothing happens to you my friends in Canada
