That is soooo adorable.
Phyllis moving up on the perch reminds me of when hubby gets up early and I roll over and starfish all over the entire bed. She's at it Again
As part of last night's roosting movie I caught something else. Miss Hattie is at it again. She was roosted for no more than 50 minutes when she hopped down to eat again. She ate before she roosted. How could she be hungry after 50 minutes on the roost. Nevertheless there she was eating.
2 interesting things of note.
- Watch the difficulty Hattie has finding the water dish. It's like she can't quite see it and has to feel her way a little.
- Watch the main roost. Once it is clear that Hattie is not returning, someone moves to where she really wants to be on the main roost.
He is too sweet. She doesn't believe anyone could love her with how she looks right now.He loves her just the way she is.He doesn't care if she loses all her feathers.
He said so.

I must tell her so today. It will cheer her up.Thank you! I do, too. ❤
She started doing this last year as the nights got longer. After ~4 hours on the roost she would get down and eat. She then sleeps on the floor. I could understand it in the dead of winter when the nights are long and her craw empties but after 50 minutes seems pretty quick to me.Wow, so Hattie slept on the floor? Maybe her molt is making her extra hungry. There is something about chickens drinking that I find super adorable!
It's tough being the omega hen at Fluffy Butt Acres.Poor Phyllis. Everyone is having a go at her and she just wants some peace and quiet.![]()
If that would work, I would do it. I tried a walnut the other day but no one would bite. I am that scary or repellent. That is soooo adorable.
Admit it micstrachan, you sprinkled bird seed on your legs didn't you?![]()
I'm not certain I am prepared for this.Bad news in my neck of the woods now too.

The biggest one is about the size of my thumb.
I cut it open. Yes...it's a lash egg.
Thumb for scale. I suspect Tsuki or Deana. (Sorry BY Bob)

Tsuki hasn't laid one for several months. Deana laid one Saturday week ago 3rd October.I'm not certain I am prepared for this.
How long has it been since they each laid an egg?
