Tsuki hasn't laid one for several months. Deana laid one Saturday week ago 3rd October.

They are both almost 5 years old. 😕
I would lean towards Tsuki then. It's quite large. That did not develop in a couple of days.

This is breaking my heart. 😭 Its a good thing Mrs BY Bob has already left for work. I'm an ugly crier and she will yell at me for crying over a chicken I have never met in person

I expect she has a while to go. She is acting like herself and still bullying everyone and chasing cicadas around the backyard.

Edit to add hugs for Bob. :hugs:hugs:hugs

I will take extra pictures of her for you Bob.

I just looked up lash egg, having never seen one nor heard of it before. The article I read said it could be an anomaly, and it could just correct itself. Is one of your hens actually acting sick? Here's the article I read.
Thank you @ValerieJ .

They are all behaving normally at the moment and enjoying our current cicada bonanza!

That is soooo adorable. 😍

Admit it micstrachan, you sprinkled bird seed on your legs didn't you? 😂
Haha! I actually don’t even own any scratch. If I ever need to call them in (once a week, tops) I use wheat berries. I tried to get beef liver this weekend for the molters, but they were out. Ruby had black poop again, so I’ll have to find some. I think it happens when I switch their feed. I was in the process of switching them all to something the whole flock can eat. I think Roxy has to have the soy/corn free stuff. Sorry, got a little off topic there. LOL.

edited to change name from Ruby to Roxy

You are very kind. I will treasure each photo. And for you as well. :hugs:hugs:hugs It has to be harder for you than me for sure.

Poor Lucky started her molt in full force. Poor thing. She’s just standing there like a statue. The molt isn’t super evident yet, as she’s got really thick feathers, but it’s definitely happening... Her feathers are everywhere. Oh, and the reason her comb doesn’t look like a proper rose comb is because it got pecked when she was little.

She is gorgeous! What breed is she?

Yes, lacing! She’s a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte. Not as magnificent as high bred ones (where the red is mahogany and the blue is actually blue), but I still think she’s lovely! She is one of my fatties, do I’m hoping she slims down during molt like most of mine tend to do.
Just got my answer :D
