Oh my, I really need to be online a bit more to keep up here.

:hugs @featherhead007 I am so sorry for your loss :hugsbut I believe you did the best thing for your girl. I understand how hard it is to have to help her along like that, but when chances of recovery are that slim, the sooner you can give relief from pain the kinder. I don’t remember if I mentioned it, but we had a similar situation with one of the horses here in August. I asked the person charged with making the decision (in the owners absence, as we are Citiots) what she thought the chances or recovery were “less than 1%... but if she were my horse I would give her more time, I wouldn’t give up on her while she is still standing” I had to actually walk away. I told them to call me when they needed me but that I couldn’t just stand there and watch her suffer. Not ten minutes later she was able to make the decision.

It is the hardest decision to have to make. But I agree you did the right thing:hugs:hugs:hugs
It really is and it takes a great deal of bravery and compassion to do it. To say it is easy is to make light of it. :hugs:hugs

I hope you are not upset that I tagged you. I just remember that you built a sling of some kind once. I am remembering that correctly, right?

Yes, but Hoppy’s leg was not a total break, and she could still move her toes. I’m thinking I may need to rig another stronger one for Roostie, his Bumblefoot is not going well.

It's interesting that you should mention horses, because I went to my neighbor and friend, and asked what she would do about Roxy. She mentioned that horses get put down for less.
That finalized my decision, and 45 minutes later, I was giving Roxy a Christian funeral.
Thank you, Kris!

it never gets easier @featherhead007 But luckily, having to help, it is not something that comes up often. I lost Croppy on Saturday, but I let her go with her flock. Sammy is still quite upset that she is gone. Once these rescues are gone I am done with the really high production breeds, it is too heartbreaking to me. She was looking down the last several days and hadn’t laid an egg all year. She was still eating and roosting with the flock, I thought it kinder to let her pass on with them, but had decided that if she didn’t I would help her out in the morning.

Kris, I totally agree with you. (And I understand) Sheriff called me, and asked why I cancelled my flight run today. I told him it was due to my emotional state, and loss of family.
I have gotten too close to this fascination I guess.

I use my private plane for spotting fires in the mountain areas east of me.

I finally had time to watch all the videos. I need a camera!

Am I the only one who is all stressed out for Phyllis???
Nope, well not quite stressed here but a bit concerend.
But, I have similar stuff going on with Tribe 3 currently. I hope most of it is to do with Myth and Knock moulting but it's all a bit heavy at the moment.
