BETRAYED! by my own rooster! I was just out having some (Joy time) with the chickens. Feeding them corn, cut from a cob, They all came out to eat, from under the porch, to greet me.
Even Jaffar did. But when Jaffar thought he had enough, he let out a growl, and every other bird raced back under the porch with him. Only BLU stayed with me, and I took him inside with me.
(I stash my private stock of meally worms here) He probably wants some laptop time as well!

Well, he still loves Abby and Alice, and when Louie Louie was still with the flock he took a good share of their feathers out. I had to put a saddle on Alice, and it's really strange to see little Abby's neck feathers gone on one side. All this, and Queen Bee's injury, is why Louie Louie is in his own coop and run, by himself, until he gets a little older and calmer.

Alice, Abby and Mad Hatter are my 3 lavenders, so they hang together all the time, and Pippi allows it. But, God forbid Mad should get close to one of Pippi's other girls.

I do have a couple very young Lavender's growing up now and wonder if they will join Mad's flock. They have just come out for the first time today to hang with everyone. There is a small door for them to escape back through that the bigs can't get through, but so far so good. They are wandering around like a little flock of their own. Two of them are cockerels. The cockerel challenges never end.

I love the thought of more lavender whatevers!

I swear that the black leaves the feathers over time and they turn white on the tips. I need to watch her more closely. The hair feathers are amazing!
