Plums need 2 trees to pollinate
Yes and they need a compatible cross pollinator, same with cherry trees.

You can get plums that are self pollinating but they produce more fruit if you have a cross pollinator.

Peaches and apricots do not require a cross pollinator.

Can’t wait for my peach trees to ripen 😊

I

Fell through the deck at our last house at least twice. The first time was the worst, almost all the way to my hip, my foot touched the ground. It was raining, i had a wet sheet from the garden in one arm and the mail in the other, and was home alone. I sat there for a moment trying to gather myself and finally hauled myself up and hobbled inside. Thank goodness i was wearing pants! Still very bruised and scraped up, it was so scary. Worst was that the rental company only replaced the broken section, it continued to fall apart, we gad to lay plywood in a pathway.View attachment 3920365
Gosh that’s scary!

All that wildlife will be in serious danger as well as the people that live amongst these fires :(
Animals are good at getting out, people not so good.

During the Fort Mc fires a few yrs ago it was chaos- people were riding their horses out, and their quads and side-by-sides, they went south towards Edmonton and Anzac and NORTH to all the big camps and plants where they camp folks and the workers gladly took them in, workers gave up their rooms for families. Pets were taken in no questions asked.

People knew how to LEAVE. It’s the one huge thing people working in Fort Mc and other mining towns know - they know how to follow orders and how to stay safe, and how to get the heck out when there is trouble. I thank God every day for the safety training I have received working out there.

Mr P and Bert were fighting theough the screen door today, mr P got the worst of it his wattles are torn and he is covered in blood again.
