Ah yes, the dust cloud

Only difference there is parties are at night during sleep time, which I would not enjoy.
I don't care any more about the loud neighborhood parties now that I know our chickens sleep right thru the cha-cha music, laughter, & idiots' midnight firecrackers, cuz our girls have proven that if they can sleep right thru the 4th of July illegal rockets red glare bursting in air they can sleep thru anything when in torpor ~ TG!!!

For ourselves we have double pane windows that significantly soundproof outside neighborhood racket! Small price for us to tolerate night noises when our hens in return can be just as annoying during daytime hours.

I just cooked up some crawfish I caught from the creek behind my property and my god the chicks went absolutely insane for it. They were sliding all across the wet patio trying to steal it from each other. Goldie did give a few good body slams resulting in her stealing way more than she deserved. I am tempted to try some now lol

You cooked them? Spoiled chooks. Mine catch their own and eat them raw. I feel bad for the poor crawdad or minnow when another chicken catches on that one is fishing. The chase is on and it inevitably ends in a tug of war between them.

Yeah, knowing my chickens, they would torture the poor crayfish. It was the least I could do for their sake 🤣

Introducing the current residents of Fluffy Butt Acres

As you can see from the front of the coop, we currently have 4 residents. Patsy, Lilly, Hattie & Jabber.

Patsy & Lilly have been here the longest and we ar enot really certain what kind of birds they are but they are likely Black Sex Links. Hattie and Jabber have just joined the flock this summer as they were chicks we got back in April. Here are their individual photos.

Patsy
She is our alpha hen and is extremely friendly. While not a big fan of being picked up she comes right up to you and will talk and visit.

Lilly is currently #2 in the pecking order and intends to stay there. She has become our little enforcer and she defends the flock from such terrors as squirrels, rabbits, doves, and most importantly, ducks.
