Good morning

I have updates on princess.
Seeing her outside alone and knowing the weather is drawing closer to winter, I made the decision she needed much more. So as I said when her friend Tina died last November, it's best that I rehome her.

Looking for a new home was difficult and I couldn't be sure that they would protect her as I have done for so long.
Thankfully I found a sanctuary, one that is vegan and wouldn't even eat or sell their eggs. They give them their own eggs back 😤

Yesterday was my hardest time, what with my dear old dog dying on Saturday then seeing princess leaving on Tuesday my emotional state was pretty low and I was also in unbearable pain, so much so I had to cancel an important appointment.

But the happiest news for me was seeing princess's pictures and receiving updates since she arrived.
Firstly they said that she was chatting a heck of a lot, to a turkey next to her and the flock she could see outside that inturn came back to talk to her. ❤️

Then even more comforting news last night. Yesterday princess made 3 new friends. Now that really made my heart glow.

Here are the first pictures I've received

That poor turkey has to listen to everything princess has to say

From the information I'm receiving Princess is really excited to be there. This is one decision I've made that was right.
@Marie2020 I'm a bit late to respond, but still wanted to say I think you did wonderful. It's not an easy choice, and the timing made it especially difficult.
How are you feeling now ? It must be strange to adjust to a life without both your little doggie friend, and princess.
I'm sure seeing those lovely pictures of her must be heart warming.
I hope your two cats can still keep your animal mama's soul fulfilled.
:hugs
Please do not feel bad for asking. I am so sorry if I came off as cross.

I broke a tooth almost 3 weeks ago now. It is going to need pulled, there is no way this break can be fixed. I spent 3 hours the next day calling every dentist in my county and the next one over. The only one who would take my insurance is the one I was absolutely dead set on not using which has left me with my hands tied. The soonest I could get in is this coming Monday. If the broken tooth was not bad enough, I can tell about 8ish days ago it has become infected which is making it worse. I am not sleeping at all. When I do manage to fall asleep it is for less then a hour at a time before I wake up and then it takes another hour or longer to fall back asleep. I am exhausted, cranky and hurting. Warm not hot drinks and food only and soft. Absolutely nothing cold or else I am in agony for several hours. Now let's throw in Rosie coming down with Covid and the ear infection and having to play nurse and worry about her. Dirt gets really sick and is diagnosed with heaves and my plate is overflowing.

I am praying to have a little bit of relief soon. I had my endocrinologist appointment this afternoon. She was very pleased with my glucose numbers for the last 3 months. She did ask what has happened in the last 2 weeks as my numbers have became very difficult to keep managed. I explained about the tooth and suspected infection. She concluded I probably had one as the higher sugar numbers did not lie and indicated a infection somewhere. She prescribed me 10 days worth of Amoxicillin to take twice a day. I know the dentist is not going to pull the tooth Monday. I have to first have a consultation appointment and would be prescribed antibiotics before it is pulled. Hopefully by getting a jump start on them I can get it pulled sooner then later.
Argh, so sorry !
I sometimes cringe a bit reading about Marie's natural remedies 😉 but xylitol is certainly more than a fad. It's now added to many toothpaste brands here. I'm not sure it would do anything once the infection is declared though.
For tooth pain, clove essential oil is really efficient though disgusting, and it seems to also have antibacterial properties. If you have clove at home you can just break one in two, rub it on your finger and on the painful spot. That's due to the eugenol content and that's why clove smell and taste makes many people think of going to the dentist 😣.

It's Friday and Léa may still not have grown back her tail feathers, she has fluff !

And a BFTP with butts. April 2022, four of my ex-batt's with my partner.
On the ground from left to right Blanche, Cannelle and Brune and Vanille on JM's shoulder. I miss them and sometimes I also miss those carefree chicken times when I had just six hens and none had died yet.

I'll be honest with you.
This week I've been in and out of crying fits, and had too cancel an important appointment.

Wednesday was as bad as the day he went because princess was not there on that morning and my beautiful boy was being cremated.

It was another kick in my stomach not having either of them

My cat's
My pusscat, instead of insisting on staying outside all day has been sticking with me much more, especially when he knows I am suffering emotionally.
I'd say he's human but he's better than any human because he seems to completely understand. Plus I think he's grieving too.

On top of his woes, he has to share his home with another cat.
He got nasty with Amori after Sam left and again when princess was taken. It's like he thinks it's all Amori's fault 😞
I'm sure seeing those lovely pictures of her must be heart warming.
I hope your two cats can still keep your animal mama's soul fulfilled.

Reading what the farm has written about her made me really smile, confirming all over again that I made the right choice for her future, then seeing the photos made me really happy for her. I know she's in the best possible place and has friends 🧡

Cringe away :D :gig

My witches potions worked for me. So being the :oldold battle axe that I am, I'm going to make you shudder even more than even I did at the time...

@RebeccaBoyd
I forgot what I did with the most painful of abscesses I've ever had. I crushed garlic and packed around my gum and tooth first...and was in hellish burning pain. :barnieI held that for almost five minutes. Because "Allicin" fights bacteria and it somehow reduced the swelling really quickly overnight
Previously too the above I'd already cleaned my teeth and used salt water. Then followed up with the oil later because I needed the allcilin too totally absorb.

I cannot describe how painful this was to do but I was determined to fight back. The next day my abscess was down by 3 quarters, so I continued with my other method from there on in.
I'm not sure it would do anything once the infection is declared though.

My mother swore by clove oil. I've used the cloves before but it didn't help with my abscesses. But I boil it with ginger turmeric and cayenne pepper powder. Then add honey for my other conditions. Breathing and pain.
If you have clove at home you can just break one in two, rub it on your finger and on the painful spot. That's due to the eugenol content and that's why clove smell and taste makes many people think of going to the dentist 😣.
👍 I wonder if I should soak some in caster oil, and put it on my shoulders back and hips 🤔

My mom is picking me up today so I can visit her and my younger sister for my birthday tomorrow 😊

My mom makes THE BEST poor peoples' potato soup (that's what she calls it 😆) it's always been my favorite and I'm so incredibly HYPED to eat an entire pot of it! .... Okay... Not the whole pot. 3/4 of the pot...

7/8 of it...

...

I'll try not to eat it all, that's all I can promise :drool

Fluffy butt tax!

Manue I had to laugh at poor Léa’s tail, that one feather sticking up is very funny.
