Havn’t been here for awhile, how is everyone?

W/ winter setting in maybe you can spend more time on here? W/ my broken arm I have more time to spend on BYC. On Sunday morning I listen to my online pastor & then turn to Pony Sunday

Pony Sunday

Today I hauled a tick off Truly, and though I would show everyone what they look like close up (RC you can look away ).

This tick had likely been on her a couple days, I was digging through her coat feeling for them, which I try to do daily. Her longer winter coat is really hindering my search for them. Not sure why she is so prone to them, I rarely find ticks on the other two.

Top - you can see the head and the mandibles which dig under the skin and attach

I sure got a ration of complaints from the chooks when I got home!
Dog gone roosters start fighting as soon as I let them out of the run!
I shouldn’t have to deal with such abuse from those guys!

Hey y'all, ever seen a chicken without eyebrows? Biscuit hatched this way and it looks really weird. She's definitely not 100% cochin but...what would cause a girl to hatch with bald spots?




Here she was at hatch, she always has had these bald eyebrows.

She does! She always looks surprised!
Also...she is getting RED in the face and wattles, and she did the shake-off when I set her down. My lil biscuit baby is becoming a real pullet

My little CeeCee became a full member of the hen club a few days ago. Blue eggs too!
