Mine are on a 20% ‘plume’ feed all the time. But today grass seems to be the preferred food. Mostly it has died in the drought but there are some stubborn bits holding on.
I’ll send you some green grass ♥️ Even with the frost we have had my grass is still green! What a crazy year.

I am not whining, the cold really bothers me. But it sure isn’t great for the plants and animals that rely upon the winter snow and cold. The White Hares (Varying Hares) stick out like sore thumbs! White on the brown ground. Easy picking for birds of prey.

Rain. Yes. Need some of that. It is all feeling a bit biblical here.
Forty days and forty nights. No rain!

And Tassels said to remind everyone that she still has the fluffiest butt.

She sure does! Remind me has she moulted yet this year?

Her only activity this year has been to be broody!
She did leave a few feathers in the nest boxes but she certainly hasn’t gone all rumpled like Bernie, Pooh, and now Piglet. I don’t know if she is having a really slow molt or if she will emerge naked one morning just as it gets really cold.
Worried about that for Calypso and Sylvie too.

Got the incubator out to make sure all the pieces are here.

I told kiddo AFTER her birthday in March we will hatch some eggs. At least an incubator load, if any hen is broody we'll give her eggs as well.
We ate one of the chickens last night we had butchered Sunday. Hubby is very impressed, he said home grown is better in every way. We might move some coops around when we get a new run next year, so we can seperate them into two groups.
Liara is getting better and her molt is going well. Nyx and Morinth have just started sneezing and getting bubbly eyes. Hopefully they don't get it as badly as Shep had.
My neighbor says it happens to most flocks around this time of year, just gotta keep them comfortable and cull if they get too sick.
Oh no, not Morinth & Nyx too! Respiratory is the pits! Are they isolated?

Yep I have a few nekked ladies 😳 thank goodness it’s been mild! Rose is getting pin feathers in and just looks horrible.

Instead of fluffy butt Friday...how's about FLUFFY ALL-OVER?!
