Your 9 ft roost perches have no ladder? Or do you enjoy being the elevator? teehee.

I've seen some people use wood saw horses as perches in their walk-in coops. They were easy to move outside for cleaning. If I had a walk-in coop I think I would've used that idea. But again I don't have a lot of birds.

Our old Violet (all the Silkies too) needed a ladder for going up into the coop. Old Violet got so winded that eventually even going up the ladder winded her.

There are ladders, ramps and other things that help with their perching. Most of them prefer me to help them. Some don’t though!

Your roos are gorgeous, you know? I miss having one for the sheer majesty of these beauties!

Having had chickens, ducks, & geese on my folk's farm as well as uncle's farm, & granpa's farm, I knew the pitfalls ahead of time & was able to steel myself against chicken maths or hatching eggs ~ teehee! It helped that we are not allowed roos here. We're limited to 5 hens/no roos by ordinance. A roo is nice but our hens are able to survive well enough w/o one cuz of our small yard.

A cute video
That was cute 😊
