Stones are slippery when wet/icy. I have rubber edges on the wooden frame of the stone garden stairs. It doesn't help much...especially when covered in snow...and makes it more difficult to clear the snow off. With snow and ice, it's better to move slower and be ready to catch yourself.
I use shingle pieces on the wooden steps on the deck, yep can’t shovel with those on the steps.

Now what I do is throw down shavings on the wooden steps, they freeze onto the steps making some traction to walk on.

Did I mention I hate winter?

I want EGGIES to hatch!!! Hubby was like "now you have everything you need to hatch babies! Too bad you gotta wait til spring!
I...could ask neighbors for hatching eggs...
I would wait until first of March at least.

The lady who got Rosario was asking for eggs to hatch, I told her I would give her some in the spring, I’ll give her a bunch of blue and green/olive ones 😊♥️ I’ll give them to her first of March.

Try a one and a half ton aircraft on a frozen slippery runway.

Rosario has gone to his new home; a lady came with her daughter to get him a bit earlier. They have 12, 6 month old pullets waiting for him - he will be enjoying the good life! I have asked them to send photos.

Everyone here is wondering where he is, and Shirley seems a bit lost. But Mr LC is happy he is gone I sure. He is quickly taking over the main gang.

For now I am going to keep Shirley here, he is such a glorious boy I just don’t want him to go just anywhere.

He’s limping a bit on his right leg, can’t see anything obvious, I am wondering if he has injured himself flying down from the roost ledge. He is one big boy!
Sweet Shorely I'd take him if I could but hope he does go to a good home. Check often that it doesn't go to a bad bumblefoot. Early bumbles are easier to treat than advanced stages.

Where again did you get this beautiful guy?

Yes I know come March I will be buried in eggs! Kiddos on her birthday, a dozen bantam eggs from the boys I gave away last year, and the polish/cochin chicken lady will have plenty for me too.
I will be focusing on making room, building a chicken tractor for meatybirds, and turning broody jail and the dog cages into brooders.
