Sweet Shorely I'd take him if I could but hope he does go to a good home. Check often that it doesn't go to a bad bumblefoot. Early bumbles are easier to treat than advanced stages.

Where again did you get this beautiful guy?

I bought two chicks, a Lavender Orp and a Midnight Majesty Marans both sexed as pullets.

Unfortunately Shirley turned out to be a Shorley.

I was very disappointed, I didn’t need the stress of another Roo, and I was looking forward to really dark eggs.

And no more Laverne and Shirley.

If she started when Poppet started then yes your right. She has been at it 6 weeks. Silkies, I love them, but they are determined little heathens when it comes to broodiness. I broke Poppet on her first attempt which was almost 4 weeks. You see how she repaid me by really hiding. Chiquita, shew. Chiquita broke me and I gave her chicks after 5 weeks. She was starting to loose condition and something had to give. She either got chicks or she would have kept on and killed herself.
Yes that is what I am worried about 😞

I almost gave her a couple of Betty eggs.

I know you love all the Brahma color varieties ~ is Light Brahma the only available Brahma in your area? Of course any Brahmas should be good hens but I think you were drooling :drool over some unique ones? I pray the 2 chicks she hatches won't both be roos Have you ever dealt w/ shipped hatching eggs? I never could do it w/ our restricted ordinance.
I won’t hatch eggs, Hoovers offers Buff and Light Brahma day old pullets.

I would prefer Dark Brahma but they don’t offer them.

Other than that there is a breeder who has Lemon Brahma (I think that’s the colour) not far from here but they are not gender checked so I won’t risk getting a couple Roos hahaha.

I cannot stop Georgie from being broody. She just won’t quit. And now it’s cold she doesn’t want to come off the nest box for sure!

I haul her off morning and night, she fills up on food and marches back to her nest, at night she nests with Red in Hen House B, she has no issue with being plopped into any old nest box. And everyone wants to give her an egg - brat!
She went broody when Poppet started - what’s that now 6 weeks? What is it with them all this year?!

I swear if I could get chicks I would give her 2 just to get her off that nest!

I told her just wait if you go broody this summer you’re getting 2 light Brahma - and that will look funny! They will be bigger than her by 3 weeks old hahaha.
Remove the wide screen tv from the laying box, then she might go looking somewhere else to watch her favorite shows. Heaven forbid she misses an episode of Red Green!
