He's a funny chap. he scrapes at my boot with one foot when he wants attention. I had just sat down this afternoon and was about to give him a piece of walnut when he scraped at my boot. I had the walnut in my hand. I was about to pick him up when up he jumped, had his bits of walnut and then settled on my thigh. I sort of felt obliged not to get up then. A few minutes later he closed his eyes. No way was I going to get up then. Treacle! Asleep on my lap!:love
That's amazing! So glad you had an intimate moment with Treacle. There will be more too.
Just be open to the signs they give us. :::: I have the beautiful Beetov-Hen in with me now. she's been making trouble in the coop, and needs some chicken daddy discussion time.:D

But I must be very careful, She's got 1 inch spurs, and I don't want to be stabbed by those!

I got Rooster Cuddles from Roostie and Sammy. Dean was going after Roostie and with his foot the way it is Roostie was next to helpless. Some lap time and a relocation seems to have helped that for now. Sammy got jealous. I stopped for a little sit down to collect myself and Sammy came over for some snuggles, which brought most of the new flock around too. Hard to be depressed when surrounded by all those cute little feather friends.

I have got the hospital tractor into the field for Roostie, about 500’ of dragging it to the gate through, and down to a spot I can set up his fencing. I would never free range him in his condition except for the emergency move to protect them from the cattle. They really rough up the hospital tractor the worst. Have smashed in two sides, flipped it nose, and nearly tore the roof off it by using it for a scratcher. This shookthe chickens up init quite a lot.

My relaxing g day off with DH has been shot to hell, so I’m just going to take what I can get.
The family warn her about something, surely you know better than to expect that. 🙄
You’re right Bob! I should be thankful that they deigned to let DH know about it at all. It’s so much more fun to wake up to terrified squawks, the sound of snapping wood, and the oh so gentle rocking of the trailer as my power array is used as an expensive chins scratcher. Because that has never happened before.

And sorry to dump like this, I am so grateful for everyone here, your support and kindness keep me hanging on when it goes like this. And it just eats away at me to be so damn helpless.

Are you sure you can’t be lured over to team Rooster, Bob? When you get a good one, it’s just so special...
I had one, I had to give him up. I can't have one here.

Miss you Ned. 🥰
