It is tough for sure.

I have gone back and forth on these two. One week they are girls, the next they are boys. I've never really trusted the poof sexing having not done it before.

I would have a hard time also with that. I have watched the videos, but I would imagine unless one raises lots of them you can’t really know.

But they sure look fairly petit like pullets to me.

I took off about 1/2 the length of the spurs - rootin tootin hard material!

Never doubt the abilities of hawks. Here’s an interesting observation on the smarts of a Coopers Hawk adapting to the urban environment in New Jersey, using crosswalk sound cues and the line of cars as cover to hunt a certain spot across the street.

When I opened the coop this morning, I found Blanche had passed. She had been up on the roost last night. She had been a little off for a bit, then perked up, then gone. Also reproduction issues: soft shell here and there. She would have been 4 end of the month, along with Cheetah, Nellie, and PITA.

Such lovely chirping! They seem to really want to interact with the big girls - staying right by the adjoining fence and chatting away!

Hope the bigs are at least half as interested in meeting (nicely!)
