I'm sorry about your chickens. People who can't control their dogs need to keep their dogs contained on their own property. Why would you bring your dog, who has killed chickens before, back to the same property where it killed those chickens?! First time is unfortunate. Second time is just stupid! Hope the owners take the 3 strike system you promised seriously!

Seems extreme. Esp considering batters are just as bad for the environment

I have a battery powered one because the gas one is too big for me. It works great, and battery lasts a good amt of time.

I have my riding tractor, two push mowers, an edger, two string trimmers (politically correct) and two blowers. They are all in use for my new Start up company.
I can’t see using battery powered equipment for the large jobs I do.
I did buy a battery powered string trimmer (politically correct) for home use. But the batteries don’t last very long.

I had a neighbor in FL that bought a battery powered mower. He would get through a third of his lawn. Abandon mower right there. Come back out a few hours later after charging and do another third. Then a few hours later finish. After a few Saturdays like this, he finally bought two more batteries.

So we lost a Barnevelder pullet and our disabled Ameraucana cockerel (bum leg, poor mobility) to a dog attack yesterday. I was so spitting mad at that lady (yes, same one, same dog) that I may have berated her using very foul language. I may have asked her if she was [expletive] stoopid. I may have said that I couldn’t for the life of me understand why she was so inconsiderate that she would continue to drive out to someone’s property to walk a dog she had no control over when she knew good and well her dog had killed chickens in the past. I told her to please for the love of all things decent DO NOT COME BACK! I made my boyfriend text the farmer across the street to tell his “friend” that next time she’d be burying her dog.

She had him on a leash but “he got away from” her. Then he’s not exactly leashed, is he? What good is it if you can’t control two dogs on leashes if they are pulling hard? You stoopid [expletive]. Walk them someplace else!!!

So sorry, it’s very sad. Will you report this to the local dog officer? A public scolding might have some effect. Does this farmer care? Find out.

This dog may not be the only one you have issues with. After this dog dies, eventually and by whatever means, the owner will get and not-train them as well as they did this one.

Princess has had a solid good friend since being on the farm but sadly I don't have her friends picture. Hopefully I'll get another picture soon.

I’m going to wait and see. I don’t even know her name. I think she told me her first name once and I can’t remember. Farmer gave me a “it’s something like” response so I don’t think he knows her that well? But if she comes back, I’m going to take a picture of her license plate and the dogs and report her along with the picture of my dead birds.
