Brrrrr! The temps have dropped right off, it’s 20 (68F) but without the humidity it feels quite chilly.

Overnight low is supposed to be 9C (48F) - low dew point will mean a heavy dew tomorrow morning. That means it will be damp.

And look at this, a mama Robin has a nest out front. Maybe babies soon…?

Hopefully Mr LC’s tail feathers will grow in fast, he has Mrs LC to impress!

The four grey boys with silver collars will be culled tomorrow, they were raising heck harassing the ladies when Riddick was passing out snacks. I owe a friend two roosters, she might end up with all four depending on how much meat there is.
Wild man, Quartz, and Little Dude are safe this round. The cochins have at least another month to grow before they're the right size to eat, so I will reasses everyone's behavior then.
And then...gosh it'll be close to Thanksgiving for the chicks to be large enough for eating.

No, unfortunately, the loft is packed now. Also the elevator is 28’ long somi
Would have to drag it up 9’ and about 30’ into the loft.

Looking towards the east end,
I moved all that hay at that end of the hay mow, up to the west end. The new hay I put up starting were the older hay was piled.

I live in eternal fear that one of the broody bats will pull a Momma Hen and get up in the loft and hide a nest away.

That’s what I was worried about Wednesday night with Jaffarra missing. I was imagining her up there with the hay packed to the rafters and I would never be able to reach her. Thankfully she was only locked in a stall hahaha.

But I do make sure to keep the loft hatch closed so they can’t get up there.

“Hey I wasn’t missing, I knew where I was - silly Hooman!”
I bet I could design something that would make your life so much easier. 🤔

Let me bug my dad, my brother gave his (our) tonkas to kiddo so dad needs to get them up from the basement and cleaned up for her. We have a dump truck, excavator, and a crane I believe. From the late 80s early 90s I believe, maybe older I have no clue. He also has our old pedal john deere tractor
