The big straight ladder is a bit long to be anything other than right up to the rafters I think.
I will go out to morrow and do some measuring and trigonometry!
I am thinking the 2x4 boards across the step ladder could solve the angle point because they could alternate sides in the steps so the chickens could hop from one up to the other.
I can see it in my head but can’t explain.
Basically the 2x4s become the perches - the steps of the step ladder just supports them.
I like the 2x4 on the step ladder concept.i still like the idea of the really long ladder....maybe on a diagonal?

I couldn’t get a 2-fer picture today, but I did get a 2+2-fer of the Littles all snuggled together and as far from the bigs as possible.

Two for…

Checked in on the polish chickies while at work, and noted I didn’t latch the crate door properly, looks like someone was roosting along the edge of the door and pooped on my feed bin. Ewww! Glad I put the camera in the crate!

My mum closed the door, safer that way in case Leah tried to get out, Petra is well enough to go exploring but Leah isn’t.

Tonight Leah is still hanging in. But I am extremely worried about her.

Sweet Leah... are Polish delicate? I know they were ill at the beginning when you 1st got them.

& Muffy must be a sensational flyer to get that high... she's part Silkie too?

I would pay 1k for a good night’s sleep, no roosters barking at me at 02:00 then 05:00 . Hens aren’t any quieter. There is a motel 30 minutes from here🤔 I’m seriously thinking
Ahh, you going to treat your chooks to a night on the town...put them up in a swanky hotel for the evening? What a sweet human rooster you are!!!

Hope you are paying for pay-per-view for them, too...animal planet or chicken Little might be good choices.

Muffy is a Mr P daughter I feel like her egg mum is either Misty or Whiskers.

And yes she flies well, though at the moment not well enough to get out of the runs. She is one of my heavy moulters - she gets up there by flying up onto the other door then hopping over there. She can get up to the other door from one of the upper roost ledges in there. She’s a brat but she’s cute!
