Fluffy butts for Friday!

Lil' Queenie on left and Peanut on the right. The sun brought them out to investigate the scraps of run litter on the snow.



Here's a shot of how snowy and beautiful it is here. We've been accumulating hoar frost on everything every night. There's a lot of water and moisture coming from the ground, it's not deeply frozen yet.

That second photo is beautiful. Hoarfrost is gorgeous in the morning.

Has anybody ever been surprised, cat or hen?

Oh yes, usually the chickens get priority over any spot in the yard, most of our cats are wary of them, though everyone gets along surprisingly well. Sleeping cats are most likely to be startled.

Our biggest cat is the chickens watch dog often, he keep the yard safe from intruders, the chickens are more likely to be out and about vs hiding along an edge or under something when he hangs out with them.

Hi friends, I have lots of catching up to do, but wanted you to see what a sweet, sweet good girl Ester is. This is right before a feeding. The syringe plunger stuck, so I cut that part out of the video, but I really wanted to show how cooperative and compliant she is. Love her!!!

Well we have an adventure goat... she has been for two tractor rides, two truck rides. And three long walks. We have part of the tree removed, but still need to work on clearing the road. We have got the bottle feeding worked out, and I’ve now signed up for backyard herds.

I’m sticking with Roostie’s dose of the enrofloxacin for now.

Outstanding. You are doing wonderful with her. Looks like she is getting some feathers back as well. Just amazing.
